No Straw Allowed – Bedding will be provided in the barn.
Arrival Time: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
All animals must be on premises by 12:00 p.m.
Weigh-in 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Health Papers should be available for inspection at registration and/or upon request from show committee or TDA inspector.
Exhibitor and one driver will be admitted free. All others are required to pay Fair Admission.

DIVISION 1 Showmanship Classes
(grade to be determined as of January 1, 2010)
Class 1 Pre-4th Grade
Class 2 Junior – Grades 4-5
Class 3 Junior High – Grades 6-8
Class 4 Sr. High – Grades 9-12
DIVISION 2 Wether Kids – Classes will be determined by weight
DIVISION 3 Doe Kids – Classes will be determined by weight
DIVISION 4 Yearling Does – Classes will be determined by weight
DIVISION 5 Supreme Champion

Open to any youth 12th Grade or below as of January 1, 2010.

Any breed or crossbreed of goat can show and all classes will be shown by weight. There is no minimum weight.

There will be three divisions of goats shown: Wether kids, doe kids and yearling does. Each division will select a champion and these champions will compete for the Supreme Champion Award.

Wether kids must not exhibit any testicular tissue. Animals having this will be dismissed. No bucks or billies will be allowed in or around the barn area.

All goats will be mouthed at weigh-in. Wether kids and does must have all milk teeth. Wethers not having them will be dismissed and does without both milk teeth will be moved to the yearling doe division.

Yearling does are allowed to have no more than two sets of adult teeth (4 large teeth) to be eligible to show for champion. Those having five or more large teeth will be allowed to show, but will not be eligible to compete in the champion class.

All goats must be polled or have their horns either tipped or cushioned with a material to help prevent injury to the exhibitor.

All goats must have either an ear tag or legible tattoo to be able to show. No collar tags can be accepted.

Each exhibitor is limited to five (5) animals for the show.

All goats will be weighed, mouthed and classified prior to the show and will be divided into classes in their divisions.

Any item that comes up at the show that is not covered in these rules will be decided by the show committee and their decision will be final.

Exhibitors must comply with all applicable general livestock rules and livestock health requirements as set forth in the Wilson County Fair Catalog.

Federal Law requires that all goats that are exhibited in junior shows in Tennessee must meet USDA regulations as it deals with Scrapie. All goats (intact or wether) must have a federally approved Scrapie tag permanently attached in its ear or other approved ID. Exhibitor must contact the USDA Vet’s office at 615-781-5310 to order their tags. Animals without proper scrapie identification will not be allowed to exhibit.
