TAFCE
Rules for Cultural Arts

- All first and second place winners from each Region may be exhibited. Two entries per category. NO substitutions.
- An individual may enter only one item per category.
- Articles must be entirely the work of the TAFCE member. The art or craft must have been completed during the past year, since the last conference.
- No doll kits or pre-printed (“cheater”) quilts will be accepted. All framable items must be framed.
- Each member is responsible for arranging transportation for exhibits to and from the State convention site.
- Each Region must provide its own materials required to exhibit articles. Tape and nails cannot be used on walls. If items are best displayed hung, please provide a means of hanging.
- Entries will be exhibited by category.
- A “Viewer's Choice” award by popular vote will be presented.
- A list of Region winners should be sent to the State chairman as soon as chosen.
- The Tennessee Association for Family and Community Education (TAFCE), its officers or members, or the University of Tennessee staff will not be responsible for any lost, misplaced or damaged items. We do not anticipate any misfortunes, but this disclaimer must be clearly understood by all exhibitors.
- All exhibitors must be TAFCE members in good standing.

5. Chairs & Stools: Woven or caned
6. Decorative Painting: Tole, china, textile, stenciling, any other
7. Dolls: Any type, (NO KITS)
8. Knitting - Hand; Machine
9. Crochet
10. Tatting
11. Fine Art Painting: (a) Oil; (b) Watercolor; (c) Drawings, pastels, acrylics,
charcoal
12. Handcrafted Toy: Any material
13. Holiday Decoration: Any season
14. Cross-Stitch: (a) Counted cross-stitch; (b) Other cross-stitch
(This DOES NOT include machine cross-stitch.)
15. Needlepoint: Any type canvas
16. Hand Embroidery: All types including Brazilian, ribbon, crewel
(ALL HAND WORK)
17. Machine Embroidery: All including machine cross-stitch
18. Other Hand Stitchery: Hardanger, cutwork, smocking, appliqué
19. Photography: (a) color; (b) Black and white
20. Quilts: (a) Hand-pieced & hand quilted; (b) machine-pieced & hand quilted;
(c) hand-pieced & machine quilted; machine pieces & machine quilted
21. Specialty Quilts: (a) Cathedral Window; (b) Embroidered; (c) Applique`
22. Baby Quilts & Lap Quilts
