at Barn in Fiddlers Grove
Open Only to Wilson County Farmers

Rules:

1.       All exhibits must be grown on a Wilson County farm.

2.       Only one entry per person per lot.

3.       Premiums will be paid and exhibits removed on Sunday, August 30 at 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Class 1 - Hay (Square or Round Bales)
Premiums: 1st - $20.00  •  2nd - $15.00  •  3rd - $10.00

  1. Entries must be produced by exhibitor, but may be entered in either the farm or farmer's name.
  2. Top 3 entries in each lot will be retained and taken to the Tennessee State Fair for competition.
  3. Entries must be composed of forage which has been cut, cured, baled and stored in barn or covered.
  4. Entries will consist of:
    a.     9" - 12" block of hay from a small square bale tied with 2 strings running parallel 
    or
    b.     13 gallon heavy duty plastic bag filled with hay from one round bale.

    Lot 2.  Orchardgrass
    Lot 3.  Tall Fescue
    Lot 4.  Grass - Legume (any grass, legume combination)
    Lot 5.  Mixed Cool season Perennials (Example:  fescue/orchardgrass mixture)
    Lot 6.  Warm-Season Annuals
    Lot 7.  Cool-Season Annuals
    Lot 8.  Warm Season Perennials

Class 2 - SILAGE
Premiums: 1st - $20.00  •  2nd - $15.00  •  3rd - $10.00

Whole soybean plants should be tied tight together.  Roots may or may not be removed, but should be free of soil.  Please Provide plan variety, maturity group and planting date.
  
Lot 1.  Soybeans, a bundle of 10 fresh stems.
