Description

HONEY & BAKING WITH HONEY
Chairpersons:
  Carey Mitchell and Petra Mitchell - 286-2529 

  1. Competition open only to Wilson County residents and/or Wilson County Beekeepers Association members.
  2. One entry per lot per person.
  3. Honey will be judged ONLY in standard 1 lb. Honey jars.  All other jars will be disqualified.
  4. No identification allowed on entries.
  5. Entry acceptability at judge's discretion.  Judge's decision is final.
  6. Entrants responsible for placement of honey grade.
  7. All honey and beeswax must be produced by the exhibitor.
  8. All entries in this division must be entered Thursday, August 12, 2010 between 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and are not to be picked up until Sunday, August 22, 2010 between 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. 

PREMIUMS FOR ALL CLASSES:   1st -- $10.00    2nd -- $7.00    3rd -- $5.00
Overall Champion Ribbon (Tom Hart's Bluest of the Blue) will be given along with a $25.00 gift certificate from Walter T. Kelley Company

(Frames must be placed in sanitary bee-proof display cases)

(All entries must be 100% pure beeswax.  NO EXCEPTIONS!)

Lot 5.  Hand Dipped Candles

EXHIBITION BEES -- CLASS E

Lot 1.  Exhibition of bees on comb in  
           observation hive.

PREPARED HONEY PRODUCTS -- CLASS F

Lot 1.  Creamed Honey
Lot 2.  Soap 

BAKING WITH HONEY -- CLASS G

(No purchased mixes may be used.  All entries must be made from scratch.  No Bread Machines used. 
  Sweetening must be 100 percent honey.)

Lot 2.  Yeast Rolls (3)
Lot 3.  Biscuits (3)
Lot 4.  Cookies (3)
Lot 5.  Sweet Bread (1 loaf) or Muffins (3)

(Baked items will be sold in Bake Sale starting the first Saturday, if not picked up.)
