Hats off to the Wilson County Fair from Ireland! PDF Print E-mail

James and Louise Gamble, newlyweds from Northern Ireland, the county of Down, were on the second leg of their honeymoon trip in Nashville when they saw a publication advertising the Wilson County Fair. James, dairy farmer, and Louise, a teacher in their home country, stopped in Lebanon on Tuesday August 16, while en route to the Smokies to complete their honeymoon trip.

Hats off to the Wilson County Fair from Ireland

Upon arrival at the fairgrounds they initially met Ruth Correll, UT Agricultural Extension Service Director. She brought them to the office where they were welcomed by Hale Moss and Kristina McKee. The couple received souvenir Wilson County Fair T-shirts and the royal treatment while on a guided tour with Johnny Knowles of the entire Fair. They loved the ferris wheel and delicious fair food, and left Lebanon with good memories—proving once again Wilson County really is “The Place To Be!”

Who Says Lightening Doesn’t Strike Twice! PDF Print E-mail

It seems unlikely, but it did happen! Tuesday evening’s Great Give-A-Way winner was Dwight Saddler from Auburntown, Tennessee. Dwight’s winning ticket was the first one drawn for the drawing. With little (literally seconds) time left, Dwight presented his winning ticket. Dwight got his ticket from Randy’s Heat & Air. He selected the Dodge Ram 1500, from Rocky Williams Premier Dodge.

If Dwight Saddler’s name sounds familiar, there’s a reason for that. Dwight’s ticket was the winning vehicle ticket during our 2008 Fair!

Congratulations, Dwight!
